Description of Axis I: This axis addresses the interconnection between human, animal and environmental health in the context of One Health, emphasising the importance of an integrated approach to disease prevention and well-being promotion. Topics such as zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance and the impacts of environmental changes on public health are discussed. Food security is analysed from the perspective of access, quality and sustainability of food systems. Public policies and intersectoral strategies to ensure adequate and healthy food for populations, especially in contexts of social vulnerability, are also discussed.
