Abstract

This work aims to identify the standard time and productivity for valve maintenance activities carried out in urban outdoor environments in the city of Lages-SC. The methodology followed was work sampling, with time data being taken from maintenance reports for calculations in the months of January and February, each with 43 measurements. During the month of January, each of the 43 maintenance operations occurred without the presence of rain. In February, 19 maintenance operations were carried out under this weather condition. Thus, the results demonstrate that the standard time in January was 28 minutes, while in February the time was 33 minutes. The highest productivity also occurred in January, with 19 valves, compared to 16 in February. Subsequently, the 86 time data were reorganized by time slots, and it was found that the morning period is the most productive. It is suggested that the standard time calculated for the month of February be adopted as a reference, and that priority maintenance activities be carried out in the morning period, between 8 am and 12 pm, making maintenance planning adequate and improving work conditions.
