Abstract

The use of products composed of microorganisms has grown exponentially in Brazil, with this the on farm system has spread significantly throughout the territory. The present system promises ease and low cost in production, and with the high inputs and low cost makes producers interested in the system. However, the productions are carried out illegally, commercial products are used as inoculum in the multiplications, while the law clarifies that the inoculum must be purchased from Embrapa. The samples were collected in the municipalities of Correia Pinto and Curitibanos. The producer was contacted when he showed interest in carrying out the analyses, the collection was carried out and later the analyzes were carried out in the laboratory on the premises of UFSC – Campus Curitibanos. The objective of the present work is to evaluate the microbiological quality of the on farm multiplied in the region of Curitibanos - SC. The results expressed in the tables vary between 4x106 and 232x107 CFU mL-1 of contaminants, without any presence of the microorganisms of interest. With the present results obtained, it is therefore stated that the final products of the multiplication have high levels of contamination, exposing the producer who handles the products and also the final consumer to risks of contamination by bacteria that are multiresistant to antibiotics. The literature is still vague, and there are no tests regarding the effects of these products on plants, soils and fruits, due to the risk of exposure.
