Abstract

The livestock system is one of the main sources of income in Brazil and is based on the use of pastures to feed animals. However, Brazilian pastures have low productivity due to improper management and lack of nutrients, especially nitrogen. This study aims to use co-inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense and Pseudomonas fluorescens as an alternative for winter pasture production, maintaining pasture quality and reducing fertilizer costs. The pasture studied in the experiment was ryegrass. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 5 replications, where T1 - Control; T2 - 100% of nitrogen dose; T3 - 50% of nitrogen dose; T4 - 50% of nitrogen dose + Azospirillum brasilense; T5 - 50% of nitrogen dose + Pseudomonas fluorescens; T6 - 50% of nitrogen dose + Azospirillum brasilense and Pseudomonas fluorescens. The data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the differences were evaluated by the Scott-Knott test at 5% and 10%. Treatments T4 and T5 showed similar and superior results to treatment T2. It is concluded that the co- inoculation technique does not present significant results for ryegrass, but when evaluated individually, the bacteria presented productive potential, thus being an important component in the recovery of degraded pasture areas.
