Chronic cardiovascular diseases and lifestyle: a narrative review
Keywords:
Cardiovascular diseases, Chronic disease, Life styleAbstract
The relationship between cardiovascular diseases and lifestyle is a study area designed to contribute to improvements in health. The objective is, through a narrative review of the literature, to relate and report the existing reflections in the last 5 years on this theme. Steps: collection, evaluation, analysis and interpretation of the data found, totaling 12 articles in the scope of discussion. Diseases provide teachable moments that predispose to pro-health actions. It was observed that patients already affected by the disease do not have greater desires for health improvement. The factors that influence lifestyle changes start from the individual's self-efficacy. The main facilitators found were knowledge about the diseases and their effects, social and family support. The main barriers were physical and environmental conditions and social vulnerability.
