Keywords:

This experience report presents a multidisciplinary approach adopted during the performance of multiple tooth extractions associated with alveoloplasty in an immunosuppressed patient admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital in Serra Catarinense. This is a study with a qualitative and observational approach. It combines practice and bibliographic review to describe and critically analyze the multidisciplinary performance in the care of critically ill patients, contributing to hospital clinical practice. The procedure was performed under general anesthesia in the surgical center and involved the removal of multiple teeth and bone regularization of the alveolar ridges. The integrated performance of professionals was essential for the safe conduct of the surgery and clinical recovery of the patient. The report highlights the importance of hospital dentistry and interdisciplinarity in the care of critically ill patients. The technique used was an effective and resolute approach, promoting not only local benefits, such as pain relief and elimination of infectious foci, but also bringing systemic benefits, clinical improvement and the possibility of hospital discharge.
